Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Bat (Dante) by Joan Jonas for USD 375.00 (€ 330.92). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Jonas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,284.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Bat (Dante) von Joan Jonas für USD 375,00 (€ 330,92) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Jonas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Iceland Photo For "Volcano Saga" #3 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.284,42).
