Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Model in Studio II by Joan Brown was sold in the First Open/NYC auction at Christies in New York in March 2015. It changed hands for a price of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,728.24) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joan Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Portrait of Jay de Feo) in November 2005 with an auction result of USD 78,000.00 (€ 66,157.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Model in Studio II von Joan Brown wurde im März 2015 in der Auktion First Open/NYC bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.728,24) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait of Jay de Feo) im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 78.000,00 (€ 66.157,76).
