Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jimmy Ernst could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art | NY auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,224.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jimmy Ernst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Imminence in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 21,600.00 (€ 17,793.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jimmy Ernst konnte im September 2016 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art | NY wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.224,60) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jimmy Ernst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Imminence im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.600,00 (€ 17.793,89).
