Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Interiors, which included this untitled work by Jimmy Ernst. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,680.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jimmy Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Imminence in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 21,600.00 (€ 17,793.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Interiors durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jimmy Ernst zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.680,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jimmy Ernst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Imminence im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.600,00 (€ 17.793,89).
