The work In Honor Of Accused Poets by Jimmy Ernst was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. It achieved a price of USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,501.56), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jimmy Ernst; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Imminence sold at auction in March 2006 with the realized price of USD 21,600.00 (€ 17,793.89).
