In May 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work This Simple Faith Has Made America Great by Jessie Willcox Smith. The »bidding war« ended at USD 104,500.00 (€ 84,519.57), 74% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jessie Willcox Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work How Doth the Little Busy Bee, which sold at auction in April 2011 for USD 386,500.00 (€ 260,778.62).

Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit This Simple Faith Has Made America Great von Jessie Willcox Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 104.500,00 (€ 84.519,57) und damit 74% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jessie Willcox Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit How Doth the Little Busy Bee beobachtet, die im April 2011 für USD 386.500,00 (€ 260.778,62) versteigert wurde.
