Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Christies in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Still Life with Phonograph by Jan Matulka. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,065.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Matulka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 164,840.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life with Phonograph von Jan Matulka zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.065,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Matulka erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 164.840,56).
