The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,287.50 (€ 7,722.95), 66% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Matulka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 164,840.56).

Die Arbeit Slovakian Village, Turi-Pole 23 7/8 x 29 5/8 in. (60.6 x 75.3 cm.) von Jan Matulka wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.287,50 (€ 7.722,95) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Matulka erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York Harbor & Paris: A Double Sided Work im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 164.840,56).
