Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jack Tworkov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Indiana #2 sold for USD 150,000.00 (€ 137,551.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Tworkov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Watergame, which sold at auction in November 2005 for USD 396,800.00 (€ 336,556.40).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jack Tworkov erzielte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Indiana #2 für USD 150.000,00 (€ 137.551,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Tworkov mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Watergame beobachtet, die im November 2005 für USD 396.800,00 (€ 336.556,40) versteigert wurde.
