This artwork by Hiroshi Sugito achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2007. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Red Lounge sold for USD 216,000.00 (€ 160,558.98) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. This high result makes Red Lounge the most expensive artwork by Hiroshi Sugito that we have observed at auctions so far.
