Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Shark Man by Hiroshi Sugito was auctioned at Bonhams in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,120.00 (€ 4,646.10). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugito achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Lounge in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 216,000.00 (€ 160,558.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Shark Man von Hiroshi Sugito im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.120,00 (€ 4.646,10) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hiroshi Sugito erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Lounge im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 216.000,00 (€ 160.558,98).
