In November 2011 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Has Man a Future? by Guan Yong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,340,000.00 (€ 128,192.97), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Guan Yong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Do you Know? We are so distressed sold at auction in May 2010 with the realized price of HKD 2,420,000.00 (€ 251,410.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Has Man a Future? von Guan Yong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.340.000,00 (€ 128.192,97) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Guan Yong; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Do you Know? We are so distressed im Mai 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 2.420.000,00 (€ 251.410,79).
