Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gordon House achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in September last year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Series 8 Vertical Tri Motif C-F and H-J (B. 105-108, 110-112) sold for GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,588.81) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gordon House; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Diagonal Quarter Red Screen, 1960 sold at auction in March 2015 with the realized price of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,530.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gordon House erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit Series 8 Vertical Tri Motif C-F and H-J (B. 105-108, 110-112) für GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.588,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gordon House; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Diagonal Quarter Red Screen, 1960 im März 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.530,21).
