In February 2008 Christies in London held the auction British Printmaking, which included the work Clear, coloured and neutrals, Marlborough Fine Art Ltd., London, 1967 by Gordon House. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 600.00 (€ 784.78), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gordon House have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diagonal Quarter Red Screen, 1960 in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,530.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Printmaking durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clear, coloured and neutrals, Marlborough Fine Art Ltd., London, 1967 von Gordon House zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 784,78) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gordon House auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diagonal Quarter Red Screen, 1960 im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.530,21).
