Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Basking by George Rouy was sold in the 20th Century to Now auction at Phillips in London in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,255.00 (€ 9,607.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Rouy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes in March this year with an auction result of GBP 162,540.00 (€ 184,920.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Basking von George Rouy wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century to Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.255,00 (€ 9.607,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Rouy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 162.540,00 (€ 184.920,65).
