Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Crushed by George Rouy was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October this year. It achieved a price of GBP 75,600.00 (€ 86,809.80), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Rouy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes, which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 162,540.00 (€ 184,920.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Crushed von George Rouy wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 75.600,00 (€ 86.809,80) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Für andere Arbeiten von George Rouy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 162.540,00 (€ 184.920,65) versteigert wurde.
