Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Vanity by George Rouy was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,160.00 (€ 11,853.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Rouy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes in March this year with an auction result of GBP 162,540.00 (€ 184,920.65).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Vanity von George Rouy wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.160,00 (€ 11.853,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Rouy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 162.540,00 (€ 184.920,65).
