Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by George Rouy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in March this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Hero sold for HKD 609,600.00 (€ 71,377.92) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Rouy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes, which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 162,540.00 (€ 184,920.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Rouy erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Hero für HKD 609.600,00 (€ 71.377,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Rouy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Looking At Me Through Gaps Of Her Toes beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 162.540,00 (€ 184.920,65) versteigert wurde.
