In September 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Diana And Actaeon (The Stag Hunt) (Hollstein 117) by Georg Pencz. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,445.00), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Pencz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,782,967.52).
