Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Discovery Prints Sale Online, which included the work Medea and Jason by Georg Pencz. The price achieved of GBP 280.50 (€ 319.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Pencz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,782,967.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Discovery Prints Sale Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Medea and Jason von Georg Pencz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 280,50 (€ 319,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250,00 – 350,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georg Pencz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.641.250,00 (€ 6.782.967,52).
