Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Medea and Jason by Georg Pencz was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2018. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,114.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Pencz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,782,967.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Medea and Jason von Georg Pencz kam im Dezember 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.114,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georg Pencz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.641.250,00 (€ 6.782.967,52).
