Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Seven Deadly Sins by Georg Pencz was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2017. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,705.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Pencz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,782,967.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Seven Deadly Sins von Georg Pencz kam im Januar 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.705,76) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georg Pencz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.641.250,00 (€ 6.782.967,52).
