Sold at the lower estimate price
The work The Liberal Arts by Georg Pencz was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2015. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,357.95) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georg Pencz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,782,967.52).

Die Arbeit The Liberal Arts von Georg Pencz kam im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.357,95) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georg Pencz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Sigismund Baldinger (1510-1558), three-quarter-length, seated, in a black satin doublet and a fur-lined black mantle, holding gloves, at a draped table im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.641.250,00 (€ 6.782.967,52).
