Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Icons, Russian and, which included the work Unknown by Frederick Buck. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 665.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Buck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young lady, facing right in ruffle bordered white silk dress, yellow sash, blue hat with yellow ribbon in her long curling brown hair in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,293.20).
