In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons, which included the work A gentleman in black coat and waistcoat, frilled shirt, fair curly hair by Frederick Buck. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 456.00 (€ 675.82), 30% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Buck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young lady, facing right in ruffle bordered white silk dress, yellow sash, blue hat with yellow ribbon in her long curling brown hair in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,293.20).

Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gentleman in black coat and waistcoat, frilled shirt, fair curly hair von Frederick Buck zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 456,00 (€ 675,82) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
