Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Selected Silver, and, which included the work A young lady in white dress, pearls in her upswept fair hair by Frederick Buck. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 360.00 (€ 528.89), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Buck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young lady, facing right in ruffle bordered white silk dress, yellow sash, blue hat with yellow ribbon in her long curling brown hair in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,293.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Selected Silver, and durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young lady in white dress, pearls in her upswept fair hair von Frederick Buck zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 360,00 (€ 528,89) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Buck auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A young lady, facing right in ruffle bordered white silk dress, yellow sash, blue hat with yellow ribbon in her long curling brown hair im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.987,50 (€ 4.293,20).
