Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Elliott Hundley could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction, the work Euripedes after de Chirico Obscured by Flowers No. IV changed hands for USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,744.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Elliott Hundley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landslide in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 123,288.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Elliott Hundley konnte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York wechselte die Arbeit Euripedes after de Chirico Obscured by Flowers No. IV für USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.744,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elliott Hundley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landslide im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 123.288,74).
