Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Elliott Hundley could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work Thyrsus for Agave changed hands for USD 252.00 (€ 227.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elliott Hundley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landslide in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 123,288.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Elliott Hundley konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries wechselte die Arbeit Thyrsus for Agave für USD 252,00 (€ 227,17) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elliott Hundley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landslide im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 123.288,74).
