Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by El Lissitzky could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Beat The Whites With The Red Wedge changed hands for USD 68,750.00 (€ 63,102.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by El Lissitzky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait ('The Constructor') in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 947,250.00 (€ 1,099,444.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von El Lissitzky konnte im April 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Beat The Whites With The Red Wedge für USD 68.750,00 (€ 63.102,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von El Lissitzky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Portrait ('The Constructor') im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 947.250,00 (€ 1.099.444,42).
