Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Atrabiliarios (Irritable) by Doris Salcedo for USD 16,250.00 (€ 10,837.67). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Part II at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Doris Salcedo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 629,615.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Atrabiliarios (Irritable) von Doris Salcedo für USD 16.250,00 (€ 10.837,67) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Part II bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Doris Salcedo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 629.615,60).
