Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Wojnarowicz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled (Pampers) sold for USD 88,200.00 (€ 82,191.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wojnarowicz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Earth, Wind, Fire And Water in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,515,000.00 (€ 1,337,984.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Wojnarowicz erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Pampers) für USD 88.200,00 (€ 82.191,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Wojnarowicz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Earth, Wind, Fire And Water im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.515.000,00 (€ 1.337.984,63).
