Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Earth & Wind and Fire & Water, from Four Elements by David Wojnarowicz was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,271.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wojnarowicz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Earth, Wind, Fire And Water in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,515,000.00 (€ 1,337,984.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Earth & Wind and Fire & Water, from Four Elements von David Wojnarowicz kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.271,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Wojnarowicz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Earth, Wind, Fire And Water im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.515.000,00 (€ 1.337.984,63).
