In September this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Freshly Abandoned Instance by David Salle. The »bidding war« ended at USD 81,900.00 (€ 77,380.95), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by David Salle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mingus in Mexico in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 608,750.00 (€ 694,094.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Freshly Abandoned Instance von David Salle zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 77.380,95) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Salle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mingus in Mexico im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 608.750,00 (€ 694.094,16).
