Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peel by David Salle was auctioned at Phillips in New York in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 40,640.00 (€ 36,878.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Salle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mingus in Mexico in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 608,750.00 (€ 694,094.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Peel von David Salle kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 40.640,00 (€ 36.878,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Salle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mingus in Mexico im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 608.750,00 (€ 694.094,16).
