Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Up and Down, from High and Low series by David Salle was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in August this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 832.00 (€ 767.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Salle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mingus in Mexico in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 608,750.00 (€ 694,094.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Up and Down, from High and Low series von David Salle kam im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 832,00 (€ 767,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Salle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mingus in Mexico im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 608.750,00 (€ 694.094,16).
