This artwork by David Diao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in June 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction, the work Shining Forth sold for USD 132,300.00 (€ 111,664.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Diao; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Twin Dragons sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 143,062.16).

In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Shining Forth für USD 132.300,00 (€ 111.664,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Diao; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Twin Dragons im Mai 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 143.062,16).
