Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Dan Flavin was auctioned at Christies in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 378,000.00 (€ 352,250.49). Admittedly, works by Dan Flavin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alternate Diagonals Of March 2, 1964 (To Don Judd) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,077,000.00 (€ 2,255,865.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Dan Flavin kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 350.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 378.000,00 (€ 352.250,49) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dan Flavin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alternate Diagonals Of March 2, 1964 (To Don Judd) im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.077.000,00 (€ 2.255.865,10).
