The work Untitled (to Piet Mondrian) by Dan Flavin was sold in the A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I auction at Christies in New York in May this year. It achieved a price of USD 441,000.00 (€ 413,929.04), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Admittedly, works by Dan Flavin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alternate Diagonals Of March 2, 1964 (To Don Judd) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,077,000.00 (€ 2,255,865.10).

Die Arbeit Untitled (to Piet Mondrian) von Dan Flavin wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 441.000,00 (€ 413.929,04) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dan Flavin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alternate Diagonals Of March 2, 1964 (To Don Judd) im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.077.000,00 (€ 2.255.865,10).
