Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work untitled by Dan Flavin was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in November this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 177,800.00 (€ 162,999.63), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dan Flavin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alternate Diagonals Of March 2, 1964 (To Don Judd) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,077,000.00 (€ 2,255,865.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit untitled von Dan Flavin wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 177.800,00 (€ 162.999,63) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dan Flavin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alternate Diagonals Of March 2, 1964 (To Don Judd) im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.077.000,00 (€ 2.255.865,10).
