This artwork by Constantin Brancusi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale auction, the work Sans titre (Deux enfants) sold for USD 61,740.00 (€ 57,534.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Constantin Brancusi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La jeune fille sophistiquée (Portrait de Nancy Cunard) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 71,187,500.00 (€ 61,000,428.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Constantin Brancusi erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Sans titre (Deux enfants) für USD 61.740,00 (€ 57.534,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Constantin Brancusi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La jeune fille sophistiquée (Portrait de Nancy Cunard) im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 71.187.500,00 (€ 61.000.428,45).
