Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Verge by Clement Meadmore was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 38,788.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clement Meadmore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Upcast, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 134,500.00 (€ 95,518.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Verge von Clement Meadmore kam im September 2013 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 38.788,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Clement Meadmore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Upcast beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 134.500,00 (€ 95.518,78) versteigert wurde.
