Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Actions: Sploosh Splsh (No. 1) by Christian Marclay for USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,826.54). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Marclay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boneyard in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 550,000.00 (€ 493,938.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Actions: Sploosh Splsh (No. 1) von Christian Marclay für USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.826,54) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christian Marclay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boneyard im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 550.000,00 (€ 493.938,03).
