Despite a disappointment, a good price for Christian Marclay
This work of art by Christian Marclay could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction, the work Boneyard changed hands for USD 550,000.00 (€ 493,938.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, Boneyard is the most expensive artwork by Christian Marclay that we have observed at auction so far.
