Despite a disappointment, a good price for Christian Marclay
This work of art by Christian Marclay could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction, the work Boneyard changed hands for USD 550,000.00 (€ 493,938.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, Boneyard is the most expensive artwork by Christian Marclay that we have observed at auction so far.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Christian Marclay konnte im Mai 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction wechselte die Arbeit Boneyard für USD 550.000,00 (€ 493.938,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00.
