Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Untitled (Web) by Charles LeDray. The price achieved of USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,742.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles LeDray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Promised Land, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 182,500.00 (€ 135,657.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Web) von Charles LeDray zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 61.742,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles LeDray mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Promised Land beobachtet, die im November 2011 für USD 182.500,00 (€ 135.657,47) versteigert wurde.
