Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Canyon by Charles Hinman was sold in the FIRST OPEN | Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,877.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Hinman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aeneas, which sold at auction in September 2014 for USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,221.25).
