The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,562.50 (€ 14,306.38), 66% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Charles Hinman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Aeneas sold at auction in September 2014 with the realized price of USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,221.25).
