The work Unknown by Charles Hinman was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2021. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,562.50 (€ 14,306.38), 66% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Charles Hinman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Aeneas sold at auction in September 2014 with the realized price of USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,221.25).

Die Arbeit Unknown von Charles Hinman wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 16.562,50 (€ 14.306,38) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Charles Hinman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Aeneas im September 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 27.221,25).
