Auction result misses estimated price range

In July 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Black Field, 1980 by Charles Hinman for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,708.53). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Online: NYC at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Hinman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Aeneas in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,221.25).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im Juli 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Black Field, 1980 von Charles Hinman für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.708,53) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online: NYC bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Hinman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Aeneas im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 27.221,25).
