Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles Hinman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in February 2021. In the Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art auction, the work Cloud #2 sold for USD 19,062.50 (€ 15,763.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Charles Hinman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Aeneas sold at auction in September 2014 with the realized price of USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,221.25).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Hinman erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Cloud #2 für USD 19.062,50 (€ 15.763,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Charles Hinman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Aeneas im September 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 27.221,25).
