Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Desert Gem by Charles Hinman for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,425.81). This price was achieved in the auction FIRST OPEN | Post-War and Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Hinman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aeneas, which sold at auction in September 2014 for USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,221.25).
