two etching and aquatints in colors, 1985-88 and 1990-91 respectively, on wove papers, both signed, titled and dated on the reverse, numbered 5/50 and 21/45 respectively (there were also 13 artist's proofs for Alice), both with the ULAE blindstamp, West Islip, New York, both with full margins, Babylon with minor rubbing in the lower margin, otherwise both in very good condition, both framed

In February 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Babylon; and For Alice by Bill Jensen. The result of USD 1,000.00 (€ 658.46) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Jensen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Givers and Takers in July 2019 with an auction result of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,423.18).

Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis

Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Babylon; and For Alice von Bill Jensen zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.000,00 (€ 658,46) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Jensen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Givers and Takers im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.423,18).
